Managing fields
Editing fields
You can edit fields through the View options menu. To access it:
- Open a List or Board view.
- Click the Options button in the top-right corner.

- In the View options menu, hover over the field you want to edit and click the button next to it.

- Alternatively, in the List view, click the column name and select Edit field.

Field editing options
In the Edit field menu, you can:
- Change the field name, description, and other details.
- Lock or unlock a field

Locked fields
When a field is locked:
- Project fields can only be edited or deleted by users with the Full-access role.
- Team fields can only be edited by Team owners.
Locking a field does not restrict editing the values within tasks; only the field itself is protected. For example:
- The name and description of the field cannot be edited.
- A Select field's options cannot be changed.
- A Currency field's currency type cannot be modified.
Inherited fields
Fields created inside a team are automatically inherited by all projects within that team.
- In a project's View options menu, icon next to a field indicates that the field is inherited from the team.

- Inherited fields can only be edited from the team's View options.
- This feature is particularly useful for dashboards and workloads, allowing consistent reporting across multiple projects.
Saving a field as a template
To save a field as a template for reuse in other projects or teams:
- Open a List view.
- Click the column name.
- In the dropdown menu, select Save as template.
