Managing tasks

You can edit task details by clicking on a task to open the task details panel. Within this panel, you can modify:

  • Task name
  • Due date
  • Assignees
  • Status
  • Any custom fields you've added

If you're in the List view, you can also make quick changes directly by editing values in the table cells.

Reordering tasks

You can reorder tasks by dragging and dropping them in List or Board views.

Note: Task reordering is only available when no sorting is applied.

Moving tasks between groups

When tasks are grouped (e.g. by Status, Assignee, Due date, or Custom fields), you can drag and drop tasks between groups to automatically update their values. For example:

  • Moving a task from Not started to In progress updates the status.
  • Dragging a task to another assignee group changes the assignee.
  • When grouped by due date, dropping into another group sets a new due date.
  • Custom fields (like select or multi-select) also update when moved between groups.

Task actions

To duplicate a task or save it as a template:

  1. Click on the task to open the task details panel.
  2. Click the ••• button in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Duplicate task or Save as template.

Alternatively, you can right-click a task to open the same dropdown menu.

Changing task icon and cover

  1. Open the task details panel by clicking on a task.
  2. Hover over the task name.
  3. Click + Add icon or + Add cover to customize the task's appearance.

Who can edit a task?

Only users with the following permissions can edit tasks:

  • Full-access
  • Can edit
